From Christmas to Easter and More
Parallel to this website, we have a blog that we update quite frequently, right after our major activities. If you want to stay current, we invite you to check it out regularly. In this post, let me summarise what we have been up to in the recent months.
Going back to last autumn, we invited our friends from Fortica – a centre for disabled people – to spend the day at our place. They very much enjoyed this outing that broke the routine of their days. We sang, we talked, even our dog made friends with them. They are looking forward to the next visit!
We have done a number of trips to visit families around Karlovac, Glina, Petrinja and also here around Rijeka. We took time with each one, encouraged them, and gave them a package with food, which they were very thankful for, especially in these economically challenging times. The humanitarian project is going very well and we thank each of you that are making it possible!
Murals: In this period we painted several murals, indoors and outdoors. We will include photos of them below, but perhaps it’s worth highlighting the one in Fortica, in the centre for the disabled. Some clients of this home are spending most of their days in their rooms, and having four new cheerful additions to the white walls, has brought some new energy and freshness.
The Clown Therapy project saw some more activity as aside from clown therapy interventions, due to no more Covid restrictions, we were able to take steps towards resuming our yearly Christmas Show with which we visited our friends in various institutions in the region.
Over the New Year’s we held a five day winter camp. We painted a mural, took a trip to Karlovac to visit our friends in need, and we took some time to give a helping hand in the reception centre for migrants at the Rijeka train station. During this period there were also trips organized to Serbia and Bosnia to encourage people on the move.
Another event was a weekend in Trenzano, Italy, to visit some friends and create new ones. This included painting a mural and holding several meetings on the theme of forgiveness and peace for various age groups.
Have a very Happy Easter!
