Second Quarter 2021
The situation in the areas of Croatia hit by the earthquake has been still very needy, even though some improvement did happen and the warm season brought about rays of hope. At the same time, the media moved its attention elsewhere, leaving many people to face economical problems and loneliness. We were able to take three more trips, distributing humanitarian aid especially in the more secluded villages. This time we tried to establish some more personal connections with a few families, involving also friends and volunteers visiting from Italy.
We also visited some of the families in the area around Karlovac as well as Rijeka, whom we had not seen for a while, and it was great to be able to spend actual physical time with them!
We took a trip of 8 days in northern part of Serbia, visiting refugees and migrants stuck in various camps, some in sub human living conditions, and meeting representatives of a few organisations who have been helping these past few years.
With a few of the Covid restrictions being lifted up, we were also able to resume our contact with some of the institutions where we used to do clown therapy, and it brought so much joy to us all!
We started to prepare for the summer months and for the influx of volunteers and friends visiting. A few summer camps have been organised and will hopefully come to pass. The first event was a two day seminar we held for a group from Dom Turnić in order to prepare for their yearly Domosong competition.
