February 2019
February was a busy month, with projects in Italy and Croatia.
School Project
On the morning of February 7 we were in the Marco Polo Institute in Verona, with 100 students, as well as teachers and volunteers who came from outside Verona.
We presented our association and particularly the activities aimed at young people. And what better way to do it than to talk about young people in person, some of those who had participated in the summer camp, part of the project “Voluntarily – to make a difference,” sponsored by CSV. After showing the film made by Filip (Per un mondo migliore in Sunja), Greta, Sara, Emanuela and Henry shared their emotions and impressions, and how this experience has affected their choices and their vision of the world.
The day after we met with the students of an institution with whom we have been cooperating for years: the Sacred Family School of Castelletto di Brenzone (VR). The first meeting, about an hour and a half, was with 130 students.
And finally, the following week we attended a meeting in another high school in Verona, the Fermi Institute, with about 50 students.
The Game of Hearts
We also began a new project, called “The Game of Hearts.” To put it simply, the idea is to perform small acts of love and kindness daily, which is recorded on a game board. We introduced this to the students, and one of them filmed their practical application.
Tony and Friends 2019 Show
So far this year we have performed 5 times in an elementary school 2 Kinder Gardens and a school for children with disabilities.
This year we are performing two shows, the “Homeless Freddy” show and a new show called “Don’t Give Up“, where Tony learns to put his New Year’s resolutions into action!
We also held a clown therapy seminar with grades 6-8 in the elementary school and will follow up by taking some of the students to a local seniors home.
