In this post we would like to sum up our activities in 2023.

Aid to the needy – Throughout the year we continued distribution of aid to needy families around Rijeka, Karlovac, as well as the earthquake area of Glina. During our visits we not only bring food and other essential items, but also focus on building a relationship with the individuals so as to encourage them, stay in touch with them and be a support throughout the year. Altogether we did 61 visits during which we saw 481 people and distributed 2 690 kg of material.

Murals – In our attempt to improve and enhance the working and living space of people in various institutions, we painted 31 large murals, with the help of many volunteers. This year we painted two murals in elementary schools with all the students of those schools. A new experience was to paint a mural 10 meters above ground from an aerial work platform on a fire-fighters’s tower.

Smile Therapy – Throughout the year altogether 97 volunteers dressed as clowns visited and revisited our friends in six institutions around Rijeka and Labin.

Volunteer Camps – We held six volunteer camps, which were attended by young and not so young. The youngest was a one year old, the oldest … well, there are no limits, on that end, the age is just a number! 🙂

Other activities – We attended several conferences and meetings and participated in many more online.

We took part in various events connected with the topic of people on the move and peace. We visited various refugee camps in the Balkans and brought help and comfort.

We invited some disabled friends from a local institution to our center for coffee and song.

We participated in the yearly Rijeka Half-marathon with our friends in wheelchairs.
