1999 Archives
April-May 1999
We also began a special learning programme at a Cerebral Palsy workshop. We weekly teach the kids a simple play with a moral to act out, in both English and croatian, which has been a lot of fun and a good learning experience for them!
June-July 1999
We were able to make two trips to Bosnia, where we were able to do some shows.in the schools and refugee camps of Grude, Capljina, Citluk, and Medugorje. On the second trip, we brought some humanitarian aid and visited different families and individuals.

Working with the Handicapped and Refugees
We participated in a ‘hands on’ program in the Cerebral Palsey Workshop Center in Rijeka, where we weekly gave Drama Classes both in English and Croatian. We also visited the ‘handicapped beach’ frequently, and had special evenings at our home, and outings with them.

We were also able to help a Kosovar refugee family with much-needed clothing, sheets, towels and blankets which they took back with them. We continue to visit refugees and the poor in our area.
October-November 1999:
Camps, children’s centers and more!
These months were busy indeed, as we continued to visit, give classes and performances in various camps and institutions. We were able to bring some very needed items to our ‘regulars’, including a sewing machine donated by the Singer shop in Verona. Slavka will be able to make clothes for her family, and have an small income now!
We also held a ‘youth camp’ in Italy in the Mountains near Val Camonica, where we gave some classes to future ‘volunteers.’ Here in Rijeka we were donated the use of a room in the centre of town, by JEN. We have been having weekly meetings and classes for local youth. This has been a tremendous answer to our prayers, especially now that it is quite ‘cold’ here! Please continue to pray for us and our work both here in Croatia and Italy.
